45 Days
I’ve decided to partake in a new 45 day challenge.
This past Thursday, December 4th, I wrapped up running 4.5 miles each day for 45 days. I set out on this random journey to honor my son's 4.5-hour surgery in 2022, which repaired his Tracheoesophageal Fistula, with the goal of impacting the families with children in the NICU at Riley Children’s Hospital.
Although my legs hurt and I spent more time in frigid temperatures than I normally care for, I slowly realized something profound throughout the time period.
45 days is the perfect amount of time.
It’s a long time, but the destination never feels out of sight. It takes a level of focus & discipline that we all have, whether we’d like to admit that or not. It’s approachable, yet empowering. It’s enough time to attract the attention of others and invite them along. Most importantly, by day 45 you don’t really recall what the start felt like.
I’ve decided to partake in a new 45 day challenge. Starting today, I plan to write each day until January 22nd. I love to write, but it’s something I only do once or twice a month. I’d prefer to write daily, so I’ll do that for the next 45 days.
I’ll share some of the entries and I’ll keep others private. I’ll explore ideas in my head, share random business ventures, write letters to people, and likely throw in a few poems.
Thanks for following along.
